Brief History
The island was originally settled in the fifth century as part of a group of garden islands known as Ammiana. Churches, monasteries, and convents were built and thrived on the islands
It is notably the only island from the original Ammiana archipelago to survive to the modern age while becoming fully self-sustainable with its own fresh water source, fish, and produce farming; an oasis nestled between the Adriatic Sea to the east, the Dolomites mountain range to the northwest, and the cosmopolitan city of Venice to the south.
In 1985, the Swarovski family chose it as a retreat, constructing a three-story chalet near a peaceful shoreline.
Renovation
Completely renovated in 2015 to eco-sustainable luxury renaissance to attract luxury tourism. The villa was restored to its original 19th-century splendor, with larch wood floors, white walls, and a custom Swarovski crystal chandelier. The island's gardens were also restored, and new plantings were added to create a lush and verdant landscape.
