The Rare Breeds Farm is approached from Totnes via a pedestrian bridge over the River Dart, which leads to the Totnes station of the South Devon Steam Railway. Pedestrian level crossing then gives access to the farm and garden cafe. As visitors cross the level crossing, they are first greeted by the Garden Cafe and grounds.

Include a large collection of hand tame Owls, a WOODLAND WALK and a newly renovated PETS CORNER & HATCHERY that houses smaller animals such as Guinea Pigs, Reptiles and newly hatched Chicks. There is also a HAND WASHING STATION.

The Garden Cafe offers an easily managed drinks, snacks and lunch menu with paninis, sandwiches and cream tea for two, as well as a popular children's box, with a choice of sandwich, drink, crisps, fruit and animal biscuits.

The Totnes Rare Breeds Farm is adjacent to the Totnes station of the South Devon steam railway and many visitors access the farm and garden cafe, after taking the South Deon railway from Buckfastleigh. The farm is part of 3 Great Attractions with visitors being offered joint tickets with South Devon Railway and the Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies.
