The story behind Kasi Infrared,
This letter is intended to give a little back ground information on the history of Kasi Infrared.
Kasi Infrared was formed when the originator of infrared asphalt restoration Power Ray closed its’ doors in 1996 and part of Power Ray’s technology and equipment was purchased by KASI. KASI has continually enhanced and improved the design and performance of the original systems and they remain the only technology developed specifically to address the re-heating of asphalt without changing the characteristics of or damaging the asphalt
Kasi was started in 1996 in long Island NY, moved from long Island NY, in 1998 to Claremont N.H. I took over operations of Kasi in 2002. After 3 years of managing Kasi the owner who lived in southern part of NJ decided he was tired of the travel so he was going to sell it of move it to NJ, At about the same time Sue my wife and partner found out that the company she was presently working for in their accounting dept. for years had just told their employees that the company would be moving to Concord NH, that was a drive that Sue was not interested in doing every day. And we were not at all interested in moving to NJ. So we felt that buying Kasi ourselves may be in our best interest.
This is when my wife Susan and I thought long and hard about purchasing Kasi Infrared, we knew the potential for Kasi Infrared was huge but the risks where also very high as the Infrared process was still in the very early stages and we where just starting to get the Infrared Technology and process in front of people in the Asphalt Industry as their best go to option in restoring damaged asphalt such as utility cuts, pot holes, trenches, low puddling spots or bird baths, trip hazards in store fronts man hole failures, removing Asphalt from bridges without damaging the membrane under the asphalt that only Infrared can do. So we felt that buying Kasi ourselves was in our best interest. Even knowing that this was a startup company and would require long days and little pay,and would take all our savings and assets to get the loan needed to purchase Kasi.
So in March of 2005 Sue and I pulled the trigger and we where on our way as new business owners.
With Sue’s many years in accounting, purchasing, and doing taxes for many people we had that part pretty well covered.
My background for the prior 30 years had been managing two manufacturing companies one in the steel industry the other in the paint industry but always hands on. Heavy steel fabrication and managing people where my strength so again a pretty good fit. Also having spent 3 years designing testing and building Infrared equipment at Kasi was also so a plus. The first 3 years where a real challenge for us. So we decided to redesign the Kasi Infrared System and this redesigned and PATENTED system is what set us apart from our competitors, and still does to this day. That brings me to the next point competition, there are only a very few competitors in the Infrared industry really only one that competes with Kasi Infrared. Their equipment is not even close in Quality, Performance, Efficiency, Safety, Technical Support, Training, and Customer Service. Over the years we have been running our own equipment in the field doing every type of Infrared repair out there with our own equipment. So we have learned what works and what our customers want. When we did the Asphalt shows years ago even before we purchased Kasi I would always listen to what our customers and potential customers concerns and needs where also what they would like to see added and we acted on the ones that we knew made sense. Kasi was always deeply involved in the Infrared seminars and manufactures round tables at all the shows we attend and we still do. These round tables and seminars are meant to teach potential customers and the huge benefits of owning their own very PROFITABLE INFRARED BUSINESS
Now Kasi Infrared is the leader in Infrared Equipment thanks in a big way to our existing customers, they are in our booth at the shows helping and talking up Kasi Infrared that is a feeling you can not put a $ amount on it is just an awesome feeling for any owner. Some times our customers are our best sales tools because we know we can have any new potential customer call most any of our 600 plus existing customers and they will allow them to go visit their crews to watch them in action and answer questions about why buy Kasi. We have done demos with Fox News and some of our customers have done demoes for their local TV stations with great response. This technology is truly amazing and there is nothing out there that can out perform the Infrared Process,

I am very proud of the accomplishments we as a company have achieved on our own with the help of our dedicated employees who have been a great asset to our success.
The Kasi Infrared Minuteman Trailer System and our world class 3 and 5 ton Patriot Truck Mounted Systems are truly the best Infrared systems in the world. These 2 machine are our top sellers, however we follow them with many smaller units for those that do not require the larger machines. Something for all their needs including Hot Boxes, Asphalt Reclaimers and Rollers.
You will find Kasi Infrared Equipment around the world in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Hungary, Span, Russia, New Zealand, Thailand, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Israel and many others. We are currently working on sales of 6 machines for Puerto Rico and another larger order for Senegal South Africa.
This business is a winner and the potential is really unlimited. Over the years we have been approached by numerous investors wanting to partner up. This was one of the areas I was very unfamiliar with so I avoided this option for growth. Looking back it was more then likely my best answer for growth. Working capital and Marketing our equipment was always a challenge for us. So we just kept using our own funds to make changes and new designs and did what little marketing we could afford to do as small business trying to become a big business. When what we really needed was expert help in the marketing areas as well as growing the manufacturing, Again looking back an investment partner would more then likely have gotten us to the next level. Having said that we have managed to still become the leader and most wanted equipment in the Infrared Industry.
Atlantic Infrared in New Jersey has been closing all of Elizabeth Town Gas utility cuts for well over a decade and has never had to return to a failed repair of closure. Atlantic Infrared has a fleet of 14 KASI Patriot Infrared units and is still growing.
Miller Pipeline headquartered in Indiana is a major underground installation company and they close all of their utility cuts with a custom designed Infrared Chamber and a dual re-claimer system on a KASI Patriot truck mounted system.
Defoe Construction utilized KASI Patriot Infrared systems to remove the T-48 and Bridge Master overlays on the JFK Bridge in New York City saving over a month’s time for the re-surfacing project. They are bidding on other bridge overlays over the next several years and intend to purchase more Patriots to complete their tasks.
