Manufacturer of Washing Up Liquids and Detergent Products in the South East
This business has been manufacturing and selling washing up liquids, detergents and cleaning fluids to the wholesale catering market since 1984. During that time the owners have created a well known brand, a loyal customer base, an excellent turnover and a steady profit stream.
The time however has come where the present owners wish to retire and hand over the reins to someone with the necessary enthusiasm to take advantage of the significant expansion opportunities that are available.
The business has outgrown its present premises and as a result, growth and productivity have been constrained to the point where new business and customers are turned away because the present owners do not wish to expand the business.
The client base is long standing and consists of wholesalers to the catering, janitorial and cash & carry sectors. They either order weekly, monthly or bi-monthly. Given the relationship, most customers are given trading terms and a small number pay on delivery.
The business purchases its raw materials and packaging from a small range of suppliers. Its plastic bottles are pre-printed with the brand name in a variety of colours, depending on the contents, or labelled with the customer’s own brand
All products are manufactured on-site and the majority of deliveries are made by the company’s own driver.
Trading for over twenty five years, the business brand is obviously a major asset. The lengthy trading history and excellent client relationships are both major strengths to the business.
With such a dominant market position and quality products with unique formulations, the business is able to price to a premium. This has provided a unique trading position which has been consistent over the years.
The business is very well established and all processes are streamlined, allowing for an easy to manage operation that is now ripe for expansion.
The business is being offered for sale on a going concern basis, all financial discussions will take place directly between the vendor and all interested parties under the auspices of Turner Butler.
Turnover is in excess of £1 million but with considerable opportunity to be increased.
The intention is for this to be an asset and goodwill sale and the asking price is £315,000+ an amount equivalent to the Net Assets which on a zero cash-zero debt basis are expected to be c£60,000
The premises are held on an expired lease and the business must be relocated.
The business has some 70 long-standing customers within the M25 and no attempts have ever been made to expand this customer base or geographic reach. Should a new owner move the business to larger premises then turnover and profitability could be greatly increased.
The factory is normally open five days per week from 8am to 4.30pm but due to current trading demands it is also open on Saturday mornings.
Support and training will be provided for a period of time to be negotiated at the time of sale.
