New service for children and adults with disabilities continues to develop

26 November 2012

Caremark, one of the leading homecare providers operating throughout the UK is continuing to develop its Specific Services care and support for children across West Sussex.

With a Specific Services Team Leader heading up a dedicated team of staff and Support Workers, Caremark delivers support to not only children, young people and adults with special needs, but indeed often the entire family unit, including siblings and young carers.

Support covers a broad range of activities, some of which include:

  • Personal care
  • Life skills in and outside the home including managing finances and budgeting, cooking, nutrition and leading a healthy lifestyle
  • Support while on holiday
  •  Encouraging confidence and independence
  • Social inclusion
  • Travel training
  • 1:1 support
  • Provision of a ‘buddy service’
  • Managing change and transition to adulthood

All Caremark’s Support Workers are recruited via a rigorous recruitment process followed by an in-depth induction training process as well as any specific training they may require. To ensure only the highest quality level of support is delivered, all Support Workers are regularly appraised and training refreshed to keep their skills up to date.

Caremark (Worthing) and Caremark (Mid-Sussex), together with the company owned office in Pulborough, have recently been successful in their Tender to be included on to the Family Support Services Framework Agreement for West Sussex County Council.
