Ableworld, the UK’s leading mobility retail franchise is delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted as one of the finalist for this year’s British Franchise Associations, Emerging Franchisor of the Year award 2014.

The annual bfa awards are recognised within the franchising industry as the most prestigious accolade a franchisor can achieve. This year, five new categories have been introduced igniting a real interest in this the competition which saw a 30% increase in entrant numbers compared to 2013.

Paul Boniface, Franchise Director for Ableworld was “thrilled” with the news: “since signing our first official franchise in 2011 our network has seen steady, controlled growth and we’re now in a position, with a tried and tested business model, to expand further.”

The ‘Emerging Franchisor of the Year’ category is one of the new awards to be introduced this year. To reach the final, Ableworld had to demonstrate that they ‘stood out from the crowd’ and have developed a strong infrastructure focused on robust network growth. Paul says that “from the outset we tried hard to follow the bfa’s guidelines for running an ethical franchise and as the only bfa accredited franchise in our field feel that this approach has helped our franchisees.”

From a chain of national mobility superstores, Ableworld provide a wide range of products and services to the elderly and disabled market. With an ageing population and emphasis on individuals enjoying greater independence Ableworld have seen an increasing demand for their products and services, from high-spec mobility scooters to back supports to stairlifts.”

This year’s judging takes place on the 21st/22nd May at the Express Newspaper offices in London and the results will be announced at an awards ceremony at the end of June.
