I work full time and needed a online business that was not reliant on products (supply chain issues with deliveries, invoicing, after sales service and customer complaints) as I could only spend an hour or so on the business in my spare time, also as Im a business consultant, did not want a product that might become a conflict of internet in my day job. I therefore approached established companies that needed/wanted to expand and when into partnership with 3 of then to grow their customer base in the private/small business sectors (which was not where their existing customers were focused - corporate clients)
The partnership has been successful with the existing contract being transferred to the new owner as part of the sale, so there is no need to even look for new business as a new owner. The business model has had a few transformations over the years, taking the learnings into account to build a stronger automated offering - in its current form I only need to oversee the admin function which takes a quick 30 mins each day. If you wanted to grow the business more time and many new avenues are possible (which I will discuss in detail with the new owner during the handover)
