The land, like the entire area around the reservoir, belongs to the State Authority of Water Supply. As a rule, these are not sold or designated as building land. In this case, an exception was made to create additional employment for the local population in addition to olive cultivation. For this purpose, an area of about 14 ha directly on the reservoir was designated for use as a recreational and tourist area. This was awarded in a public tender by the municipality to an S.L. with a maximum duration of 70 years. As the company could not make a profit from its activities for young people from socially disadvantaged families and the EU support programme expired around 2010, the construction work was stopped. The grounds became overgrown and some of the buildings whose construction had begun were no longer completed. That is why the building was rented out for the low lease/operating costs of 2,000 euros per year. In this state, the current users have acquired the buildings and with it the operating concession that runs for another 60 years. They have extensively renovated the entire complex of 14ha with the buildings and have been using it as a residence ever since. For family reasons, they now want to sell the Spanish company with the lease.
The complex is located in a nature reserve on a large lake. At the entrance you will find the former reception building, already converted into a big villa with 3 bedrooms and a large terrace with plungepool. A bit further is the main building of 900 square meters with a large event hall, a restaurant with bar and a terrace overlooking the lake and a spacious master suite. The property has an autonomous water supply through a deep well with a drinking water reservoir of 700,000 liter. The plot is overgrown with olive trees, holm oak and pine forests and landscaped lawn with palm trees with automatic irrigation. For sports activities, there are numerous attractive hiking trails on the plot, as well as a tennis court.
The next small town with shops, school, restaurants, bars and health centre is 3 km, the historic capital of the Granada region 27 km, the Costa Tropical 50 km, skiing in the Sierra Nevada 45 km away. Málaga Airport is 154 km away.
Because the entire area belongs to the state, there is no cadastral registration, but only the lease from which the area designation originates.
