About

From pastrami to corned beef to prime rib sandwiches and tasty wraps, to fresh salads and healthy smoothies, to mouth-watering cheesecake and other delectable desserts, you’ll want to keep coming back to try something new.

We only use the best ingredients for our fresh baked breads. You can choose from Ciabatta, Pumpernickel, Italian, Sourdough, and many more.

So if you’re looking to satisfy that appetite, hurry on over to Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli. But you better keep an eye on your lunch or it’s liable to grow legs. And as we say in Brooklyn, “If you think you can find a better deli, just fuggedaboudit!”

What is the total investment for a Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli/Soup-N-Juice franchise?
The total investment ranges between $307,667 to $428,900 which includes the franchise fee of $35,000.  We have several lenders that have worked with franchisees for financing, including equipment leases.  A list of these companies is available upon request.  These costs do not take into account any landlord tenant improvement dollars that is possibly negotiated in your lease.

What do I receive for my investment?
For your investment you will receive a package that will include foodservice equipment, furniture, lighting package, security system, point of sale system, signage, office equipment & supplies, etc.

We also provide an initial training program for you (or your designated manager if you are a business entity) and up to one other employee.  The initial training program consists of approximately 180 hours over 4 weeks in the operation and management of a franchise business.  This includes 2-3 days at the corporate headquarters and the remaining balance of the time is spent in existing restaurants doing hands on training.  Some of the other facets of training include restaurant operations, hiring and training, baking and production controls, sanitation, internal accounting procedures and serving the customer.

During your training program you will receive an operations manual to help your store run smoothly and efficiently.  Some of the most import items you will receive for your investment are name recognition, ongoing support, a professionally managed marketing program and a proven system where people care about their franchises.

We may also assist you with site location and lease negations as well as developing of your store once the location is selected.

How will I find my franchise location?
One of the most important issues is location, location, location!  Most of our sites have been found by the franchisee.  They target the area they are interested in, drive up and down all major streets and contact local realtors to see if there is any retail space available.  Some franchisees work with a real estate broker to help them identify potential sites.  Due to our success, we are continuously receiving information from commercial realtors with reference to sites.  Typically the franchisees real estate broker will gather demographics and traffic reports as well as other attributes about the site to make sure the location fits our criteria for a successful store.  Both the franchisor and the franchisee must approve the site before a lease is signed.

What is the ideal size and lease costs to open a Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli/Soup-N-Juice ?
Our store sizes range from 1,400 to 3,000 square feet.  Our ideal size is approximately 2,500 square feet.  We prefer end cap locations with available outdoor patio space.  End caps typically provide better visibility and space for our trademark signage on 3 sides of the building.

The cost to lease a property is based on the square footage of a store.  The price per square foot will depend upon the location of the property, demographics and the condition of the property.

What are the additional costs I will need to pay after my initial investment?
After your initial investment, a franchisee must pay to the franchisor royalty fees of 6% based on your gross sales.  A  Marketing Fund fee of 2% and a local Advertising fee of 2% (total fees 10%) are paid on a weekly basis.

How many employees will I need to operate a Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli/Soup-N-Juice?
We feel it is important for our franchisees to be hands-on owner/operators to be successful.  The total operating hours per week can vary widely based on location and business volume, but they generally range from a low of 60 hours to a high of 105 hours.  Much also depends on your stores locations ie; downtown, urban or suburban. About 15-18 people in a combination of full & part time positions are what most stores use.

As a franchisee, what do I have to purchase from the franchisor?
We have developed a line of proprietary products including logo apparel, hats, Heidi’s Cajun Sauce, Horseradish Sauce, Mustard and other items.  These items can be purchased from the franchisor, an affiliate or another supplier we designate.  All food items, ingredients, paper goods, supplies, materials, and other items used in the operation of the franchised business shall be purchased only from “approved suppliers” that we designate or approve.

Do I need prior food or restaurant experience to operate a Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli/Soup-N-Juice?
We prefer franchisees with prior restaurant experience and business operations experience.  Our family of franchisees are from all walks of life.  They include fire fighters, accountants, restaurant operators, corporate and I.T. consultants, advertising executives and real estate agents, etc.  Regardless of your prior experiences, you will complete an extensive training program and receive operations manuals as well as support from corporate staff that will help you to learn about this business.  Overall, we seek those individuals with a passion for the restaurant business and a willingness to work hard with a desire to succeed as our prime candidates.

Who is responsible for the construction of the store and the installation of the equipment?
The franchisee is responsible for their own construction.  The Naples Group Companies owns and operates Big Hammer Construction.  Big Hammer has built or managed the construction of numerous Heidi’s restaurants.  They would be pleased to provide a construction bid for your store.  Franchisees are not required to use their services.

Is my store location protected from other Heidi’s restaurants?
Yes, we establish a territory for all stores that includes a 2 mile radius or a population base of 20,000 people, whichever criteria is met first.  Exceptions are made for locations in densely populated areas such as urban or retail environments.
