This taxi service company specializes in personal transportation with 100% of it’s sales derived from this service. Services are priced by the county Public Transportation Commission through meters that are set with specific rates. There are no employees. The 2 drivers are independent contractors and are paid by cash from the client daily. Since the drivers are independent contractors they are given no benefits of any kind. Each driver pays the company $300 per week. Currently each of the 2 drivers keeps the vehicles 24 hours a day. A new owner can split up the shifts to 12 hour shifts and hire 2 more drivers. Therefore increasing weekly income to $1200 per week. Otherwise new owners can raise the current weekly charge to $500 which would still be very competitive with other taxi companies. In April of 2008, the company will be eligible for an additional permit which would allow for 2 more vehicles. The growth potential here will double their current revenues. There are two effective competitors and they are both located in downtown Tampa. Due to this company being SE Zoned and the location of the 2 other companies, we would rank high due to the fact that we are local and in close proximity to the clientele. Our current clients have complained and stated that they have waited up to two hours before our competitors came for pickup. We respond within 30 minutes on average which is a great advantage. Their weakness would be the size of our company. The best way to resolve this would be to take advantage of obtaining additional permits and add more vehicles to the fleet.

Competition / Market:

Current advertising is done in local Chamber Phone book. There is no accurate way of putting into dollars the market and the sellers currently feel that their company has at least 50% of the market share. There are no outside salespeople due to the drivers bringing the taxis to perspective clients so they can view the vehicles and also distribute business cards.
