About Us


The Global Travel Group Ltd is an award winning travel consortium, providing entrepreneurs with everything they need to set up their own successful travel businesses. Much has happened in the travel industry since we set up our first agency back in 1992. The Global Travel Group was formed to provide people from various backgrounds and experience with the opportunity to start their own travel agencies. The idea was simple -to break through expensive barriers and allow non-travel professionals access into the dynamic and lucrative travel industry.

 More recently in early 2008, The Global Travel Group was acquired by a major global player in the Travel Market - Stella Travel Services UK, whose portfolio includes Travel 2 Ltd and Travel Bag Ltd. Since this exciting change, general operations have not changed however the buying power has increased and our commercial terms have never been better. We now have approximately 600 members with a turnover approaching half a billion pounds. Our top member last year achieved sales of over £30m netting commissions of over £3.5m. In fact last year was a record year for the group selling more holidays and travel related products than ever before. It just goes to show that no matter how tough the economy becomes, we will not give up on our annual holiday - It's now firmly embedded as a necessity and not luxury. 

In recent years we have seen a travel agent revolution with the emergence of low cost airlines enabling agents to take accommodation from our database of over 100,000 hotels and apartments worldwide, add a flight to make a fully bonded package holiday using the Group ATOL licence, The Group ATOL protects the client's holiday in conjunction with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). An ATOL licence allows you to package your own holidays as a fully bonded and protected product setting your own price and margins. This means that your clients can book with you traditional package holidays or ones tailored exactly to their own requirements.

  The Global Travel Group provides a "Customer Protection Guarantee Scheme". This protects your client's funds in a trust account and is the equivalent of an ABTA bond. We now include a free fully bookable website as part of our full membership package, giving you even more flexibility in the way you operate your business. This will enable you to reach out to customers who prefer to book their holidays on-line and at a time that suits them. Your website will be a fantastic gateway to your business, providing cutting edge web design and market leading technology. You will be able to promote your website in confidence knowing that your customer’s first impression will be a good one.

Training & Support

As part of your membership package you will receive two weeks training at our training academy. This training course is designed to provide you with everything you need to know to start your successful travel business. The training team have years of knowledge and experience and will fully prepare you for the launch of your business. Our training programme is designed for non travel professionals, however for those of you who are travel trained we will tailor make a training programme around your individual needs.

In addition to our fantastic training programme we offer our members continued support as we fully recognise the importance of this particularly in the early stages of your new business. We employ over 200 staff dedicated to your success. Agency Support is on hand to answer any queries that you may have, Regional Business Development Managers located around the country are available to visit your business to give you practical help and support if required.
