The business consists of two key areas and ISP & IT support. The ISP has over 280 customers turning over nearly £200k with a pipeline worth more than £100k. Providing internet hosting, email, database hosting and support services to its B2B customer base.
The IT Support section provides local internet related businesses with IT infrastructure support on a retainer plus time charges basis, this includes sale of hardware (at £50k pa) and network & IT consultancy (£30-50k pa)
The office is 94 square metres with high security entry/exit system, consisting of offices/workshop, toilet & kitchen and the 25 square metre data centre.
The data centre has filtered mains power, with a UPS and back up batteries which provide an hour of standby power. Cooled by a new energy efficient air conditioning system. A fire drop system is in place that protects all hardware down to server level.
Compaq 42U racks filled with HP and IBM servers, both blade type and standard rack mounted, all servers have hardware RAID controllers with either RAID 1 or RAID 5 utilised and having tape back up units to ensure data is secure. The centre houses a variety of email, web and database servers and uses Cisco routers and switches. .
Four employees provide 7am-7pm week day hands on support and engineer callout out of hours. Two independent internet feeds provide a failover system for resilient availability, this is managed through a BGP shared IP system.
A contract will be agreed with the current owners to be provided with IT support by the business.
