PlumbLocal prides itself on its outstanding City
& Guilds 6129 NVQ 2 training programme. As the C&G
6129, the PlumbLocal training programme is the only franchise
training course to include the NVQ level 2 qualification (C&G
6089) together with the on-site assessments that will actually
enable you to achieve the NVQ Level 2 the only recognised
qualification to become a qualified plumber in the UK. You will
also achieve ‘Unvented Water Heating’ certificate and
BPEC Water Regs.

- Health & Safety: Legislation and good
working practices
- Cold Water Supply: The water cycle and domestic
supply including systems found in domestic premises
- Basic electrical: How to install electric
showers and fault-find on emersion heaters and pumps
etc
- Hot Water Supply: Types of domestic hot water
installation
- Hot Water Heating: Types of heating systems and
domestic installations
- Hot & Cold Water Supplies: Combines previous
subjects to complete domestic installations
- Drainage: Above ground drainage systems,
connections to the public waste system.
- Sheet Lead: Sheet lead weathering, lead welding
techniques
- Bathroom installation: How to install a complete
bathroom suite
Your 12 week training programme will begin at our
training centre. During your training, you will attend both
practical workshop training and also theory based classroom
training. This is an intensive course so you will also be expected
to carry out additional tasks every evening.
Once you have passed your final exams and received your
qualifications you will accompany one of our team of Tech Support
Franchisees or ‘TSF’s’ for ‘hands on’
training with real customers. TSF’s are our most experienced
franchisees and have each been independently assessed by a CORGI
Plumbing Inspector. After training your appointed TSF will go on to
become your ‘mentor’ offering support and guidance
whenever it’s needed. They will also carry out a periodic
assessment of your work and skills development.
