UK Entrepreneurial Drive Catching Up With Us
UK entrepreneurs are becoming bolder in the business arena, and are catching up with their US counterparts, a new survey has revealed.
According to the poll by Businessesforsale.com, around 61% of people looking to buy a business in the UK are first time buyers, compared with 53% in the US. Just four years ago the figure was only 40% for UK buyers.
UK women are also more entrepreneurial than their U.S counterparts, the survey claimed, with a third of UK business buyers being women compared to only 20% in the US.
"More Brits are deciding to buy a business over starting one," says Tony De Vizio, director of Businessesforsale.com.
"If you are thinking of getting into business, buying an existing one now seems more appealing. This is because more people are aware of the increased chances of success when compared to starting up from scratch."
UK entrepreneurs are also getting younger according to the company. More than 55% of UK buyers polled were aged between 18 and 44. This figure was under 50% in the US.
"UK business buyers have never been younger or hungrier," added De Vizio. "This survey proves that Britain is becoming more entrepreneurial."
