A unique property with stunning sea views is for sale in West Wales. At high tide the property suffers from rising damp, but for £377,750 the buyer will become the sole proprietor of one of the country's most picturesque tourist beaches.

Whoever purchases Saundersfoot Beach near Tenby in Pembrokeshire will also be the owner of a thriving ice cream business, a fleet of vans and a beachfront chalet. The quarter-mile-long beach is one of only a few prime tourist beaches across Britain that is privately owned.

But the buyer will only own the beach above the mean high tide line. Everything below belongs to the Crown. Kevin Lindfell, 49, the present owner, said: "I have always enjoyed telling people I own a beach but now it is someone else's turn. Saundersfoot still attracts people for traditional family holidays and ice cream is as popular as ever." The beach is privately owned because it was once part of an historic agricultural estate that led down to the shoreline at the seaside village. The beach has gone on sale on the internet at www.BusinessesForSale.com. As summer appears to have arrived at last, potential beach bums are now showing a lot of interest.
