Business description
Business Opportunity – Marketlaw Legal Marketing Consultant

Background:

The recent Legal Services Bill marked big changes in the provision of many legal services, in the UK. The Bill allows organisations such as the AA, and The Co-op to provide services such as conveyancing , Personal Injury claims, and will writing, to the general public, which have been provided almost exclusively by solicitors.

Solicitors have held the monopoly on these, and many other services for centuries, and the new Act will be truly market changing. In order to compete with the marketing campaigns of the major brand names, solicitors will need to market and sell their services, and their image to the general public, in order not only to stay profitable, but financially viable.

Past deregulation, which allowed legal practices to advertise their services, demonstrated that marketing and advertising is not something that the majority of practices do well or do at all.

However, the legal profession has a lot going for them when it comes to providing “products” such as conveyancing and PI claim handling services. It is still largely trusted by the general public, and recognised as a profession in a trade orientated world. They have recognised expertise, and a long history of success in providing the legal products, which the big brand names don’t have. Would you prefer your legal claim to be handled by a friendly local experienced solicitor, with a demonstrable history of success, or by somebody with legal training working for an organisation better known for selling groceries or breakdown services?

The legal profession can compete with the new competition, but it will need the support of marketing professionals, if it is to stand a chance of succeeding.

That is where Marketlaw comes in. Marketing expertise is what Marketlaw can offer, and you, as a Consultant, will become the “marketing department” for many practices, within your own designated territory. This is the opportunity to become a Marketlaw Consultant, with your own business, completely supported by the central Market Law organisation. Market Law is really going places, and is in pole position to take advantage of the new environment.

Marketlaw:

Marketlaw is a company based on over 20 years of successfully providing a variety of professional marketing services to the Legal profession in England and Wales. These include, Market Consultancy, Strategic Planning, Practice Development and Promotional Advice.

The directors of the company have been accredited by the Law Society, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, 3I’s, Cranfield Business School, Warwick University, and operated exclusively within the legal profession during the Government sponsored DTI “Enterprise Initiative Scheme”.

Two directors of Marketlaw were commissioned by the Law Society to write a book of major importance, which was published in May 2008, dealing with the marketing of legal services after the advent of the Legal Services Bill, which will have a profound and long term effect on all solicitors in England and Wales. The book is currently having a major promotional campaign at a time when its contents are actually needed by its readers, and when Marketlaw Consultants will be promoting marketing services and programmes to legal practices in their territory, with full training, support and back up from Marketlaw. The timing is perfect!

Although there is already a recognised need for expert marketing support for the Legal Profession, few practices have in house marketing expertise, and even fewer are marketing orientated. Currently, practices that have adopted a marketing strategy, have employed external organisations. The legal Services Bill will create a much bigger demand for these services.

Market Law Consultants, will be in the right place at the right time!

The Opportunity:

There are only a maximum of ten Marketlaw Consultant opportunities available, who will cover England and Wales. They will be running their own businesses. There is no fee to pay, to become a Consultant, although there is a fully refundable training fee, to pay on appointment. Details of this are in the main prospectus documentation. Consultants will receive all necessary training, ongoing support and marketing, as well as an exclusive territory in which to run their own business. They will be marketing Marketlaw’s tried, tested and endorsed marketing programmes to the legal practices in their territory. The programmes will be structured by Marketlaw central office, with the Consultants acting as local co-ordinators, who will build business relationships with their legal practices. The fees charged to the practice will be shared with the Consultants. It is not easy to estimate earning potential, but there is no reason why a successful Consultant should not be earning £100,000+ within a year.

Because the Consultants are vital to the future success of Marketlaw, the selection of candidates is extremely important. Marketlaw is looking for professional people who have already demonstrated they are successful

The ideal candidate is likely to have sales or marketing experience, be a good communicator with the ambition and drive to be continuously successful. No prior experience of the legal profession or market is required, as this will be covered during training. You will, however, need to be comfortable communicating and presenting at a senior level.

Marketlaw want Consultants for the long term, who can build and grow their businesses.

If you think you can match these expectations, contact The Business Partnership, to receive a full information prospectus and to discuss the opportunity further.
