Business description
This business was founded in 1999/2000 by the original owners and has been in the vendor’s ownership since 2002, after professional respect for the product through driving it in competitive events led to the decision to invest in and then purchase the business. It was established by successful motorsport engineering professionals and through Europe wide racing success has grown to become a significant brand with a worldwide reputation for the quality and performance of its high performance car product, honesty and reliability.
The business offers a bespoke range of sports car products and systems for road and track use, but, while performance is paramount, great emphasis is also placed on structural integrity, handling, responsiveness, reliability and quality of engineering to international quality standards.
The business draws on the latest research on safety issues, particularly from organizations such as the FIA, as well as making use of research establishments such as MIRA. Component suppliers to the company are all well established businesses within the industry and work closely with the company to ensure quality and integrity.
The company has a strong belief in the value of proving the brand on the race track, particularly at the top level of GT racing. This has remained a constant since the company's inception.
The business’s race cars have competed in GT sports car races in the UK, Belgium, Canada, USA, Holland, Germany, Austria and the Middle East, racking up wins, top 6 placings and fastest laps in almost all regions.
The business operates from a discrete private location in the Oxfordshire countryside, along with a small assembly facility in Leicestershire. It specialises in two key business areas; the manufacture and supply of its Super High Performance GT race car and the more usable but essentially similar road version. The business has the technical and manufacturing capacity to increase production within current plant operations.
The business’s main product has been proven to be one of the world’s fastest production based cars, and yet is priced at a fraction of the cost of competing supercars from such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani etc. The car has attracted significant positive press from some of the automotive sector’s most reputable publications, for example:
“Fantastically quick British-built supercar, the only real threat to the Mclaren F1.
The business is supported by exemplary relations with key component suppliers, who have helped to ensure that production is never compromised and that customers are never let down. This commitment to supply chain relationships has underpinned this business’s abilities in product quality.
Employees: There are currently no full time employees of the company, with key staff all being self employed and occupied on various unrelated activities and available to the business whenever required
Location
With no outstanding leases or commitments on business premises, the company can be immediately relocated into a suitable location almost anywhere, even potentially outside the UK. At present, most component jigs and master moulds are located at the premises of specialist suppliers, but these could be moved at short notice. Production of most components could be brought in house if required.
Expansion potential
The current market for this business is considered to be growing rapidly and is forecast in the near and longer term for significant growth. The business is well positioned to take maximum advantage of this growth as it occurs.
Business operations are not at maximum capacity and there remains considerable scope for an increase in production, turnover and profit simply by gearing operations in line with current market demand.
Competition / Market
The business has invested little or nothing on advertising in the past, concentrating all marketing funds solely on the corporate web site, and there are excellent opportunities to increase enquiries, brand awareness and sales through marketing investment and increased high profile racing activities.
Support & training
The current owner will provide all necessary support, training and all relevant contacts to allow continuity of trading.
Reasons for selling
The business is for sale as result of the vendor’s wish to follow other areas of interest.
