Advent Business Sales are pleased to offer to the market this established wine wholesaling business, which has been trading successfully for the past 5 years.

The current vendor has been in constant ownership since its inception and is reluctantly selling due to retirement plans. The vendor possesses the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma, and has an excellent reputation in the trade.

The company deals with more upmarket and exclusive products and is not involved with produce sold in super markets or multiple wine shops.

The majority of wines sold by the company are imports from France, Italy and South Africa as well as specialist wines from Alsace. Also a large amount of Champagne is sold.

The established customer base consists of some 25 Colleges in Oxford and Cambridge which consume approximately 80% of wine sold, and a further regular 25 private customers, and some off- trade. These are spread across a radius of 50 miles from the present company base.

Some clients are supplied by mail order and there are opportunities to develop this facility further.

There are already ongoing listings from the Colleges to order from September 2009 to September 2010. The College’s final clients are professors and tastings usually occur twice a year to obtain listings.

Recent forays into London have proved to be encouraging and any new owner would be wise to follow this up.
