Business description
The business was established by two of the current directors in 1972 and initially wrote software programmes for its own benefit. Its success created significant interest and the business started to provide solutions for Hewlett Packard who acted as a reseller on their behalf.
The strategy of the directors has always been to grow a financially stable business with a long term future and to establish relationships with clients that are on going and based on a clear and thorough understanding of their IT and commercial objectives.
While most companies have to continually upgrade and re specify their IT systems this business has created suites of Intelligent Software that is able to be modified on an on going basis to meet the changing demands of the client.
Following a period of consultancy the operation takes overall responsibilty for a clients entire IT infrastructure providing a comprehensive support service, facilities management, wide and local area networks, virtual private networking, disaster planning and recovery strategies, remote management and support, on site support if required, full training and ongoing consultancy.
The net effect is a more cost effective set of IT driven solutions which can be updated and implemented with minimal disruption to the clients commercial operations.

The latest addition to the portfolio is a bespoke programme that stores data on people, places, organisations and items separately. It can be used as a stand-alone programme or in conjunction with the ERP software.The captured data can be used to form any number of appropriate links that can then be formatted to create the desired applications.
Examples of its uses would be CRM, Accident recording systems, drug and patient management, training records, company organisation structures, and asset recording and advanced booking systems. The products have undergone redevelopment to raise them to the latest technical and commercial standards
Customer Service:
For twenty years the company sold primarily through a distribution network that named and worked on the product for their customers and sold to thousands of users throughout the world. In the last few years products have only been sold direct to end users and the company now has a core of circa thirty-five high value clients. Many of these have been customers for between ten and twenty years. This level of loyalty has been assisted by the recruitment policy of the company who have hired highly qualified people from a range of industries so they have expertise in each specific market.

Location
The IT centre is based in a barn conversion located in the Somerset countryside. A fully repairing lease is available on these premises that are owned by two of the present directors. The present lease is for five years and runs from January 1st 2009.

The second small Oxfordshire based office is owned by the company and is valued at around £90,000. There is a mortgage of £75,000

At present one of the directors is responsible for all sales activity. Recruiting a small specialist sales team could restructure this key activity.
