The United States Basketball League (USBL) is a twenty-four year old professional basketball league that plays a 30-game season from April through June. During its history, the league has helped over 150 former USBL players and coaches advance their professional careers into the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Coined as “The League of Opportunity,” the USBL also continues to offer several unique investment opportunities to savvy investors. The company was the first publicly held sports league in the World and is still traded on the OTCBB (ticker symbol: USBL). Each expansion team (currently offered at $100,000) operates as a member of the USBL. In addition, each team must be capitalized with an additional $200,000. Expansion teams may be owned by a corporation, a partnership or by an individual and operate autonomously with the USBL (the League), but all teams follow the same approach in advertising and marketing. Each team develops its own identity, players, coach, logo, etc. and markets accordingly. During the first few years, the teams need to establish themselves with media, fans, sponsors, and ticket buying public. Each year of operation and success enhances the overall team operation and should add to overall appreciation of the team. USBL teams could certainly follow the success of minor league baseball teams, which have appreciated ten fold in the last few years. The USBL anticipates increasing the entry fee each year based on growth and demand.

The league has recently conducted a full review of its business model, molding new strategies to better serve the long-term success of the league and its franchises within the current economic climate. The robust expansion plan underway places an emphasis on building new partnerships and competencies with other forward-looking companies, adding value to the league and its new franchises.
