Martin & Co - Residential Lettings
Franchise
Martin & Co is already
the country's largest and fastest-growing residential lettings and
property management franchise network, opening three new offices in
high street premises each month and it's on target to have 200
outlets by the end of this decade.
Martin & Co currently has 170 offices across the country, from
Truro to Aberdeen, Prime Central London to Belfast and Wales,
reinforcing its position as the nation’s No. 1 lettings
brand.
Martin & Co (UK) Ltd is a recognised Investor in People and a
full member of the British Franchise Association. Martin & Co
are also proud winners of Franchisor of The Year
(The Negotiator Awards) and The Best Large Chain (Estate Agent
& Letting Agent Awards.)
The Martin & Co brand is distinctive and its
reputation is growing. Martin & Co Franchise
owners are allocated an exclusive territory, receive help with
development of a 5-year business plan, funding and finding shop
front premises, co-ordinating shop fitting, staff recruitment,
training and on-going operations support to manage and run a
successful lettings and property management
franchise.
Who are Martin & Co looking for?
Ultimately,
what drives Martin & Co’s commitment to
such a comprehensive package of systems and support is the
recognition of three core truths about franchising: that success
flows from attracting the right kind of people that those people
will not necessarily come from a property industry background; and
that franchisees should be empowered to free themselves –
should they so choose - from the day-to-day running of the business
altogether.
Training and Support
Franchisees not only enjoy all the obvious
branding and marketing advantages that flow from being part of the
dominant national player in the sector, but they are also the
beneficiaries of a uniquely powerful and comprehensive package of
proven systems and ongoing support covering every single aspect of
running a highly successful lettings business, with expert help
always on hand from members of the company’s highly
experienced head office team.
As befits an organisation that wears its hard-won Investors in
People accreditation (renewed until 2010) with understandable
pride, industry-leading training and staff development is a key
area of the Martin & Co offering, ranging from
a comprehensive induction programme that combines a thorough
grounding in all the fundamentals of lettings with a detailed
introduction to Martin & Co, to an extensive
programme of ongoing training and support designed to enable
managers and staff at all levels to develop their expertise and
career opportunities within the group.

Who's Ideal
for Us
Read what some of our franchisees have to
say about us…
 | "We were confident about getting the
business off the ground having turned around flagging estate
agencies in the past; however we weren't confident with all the
things involved with getting to the point of opening the doors. The
funding, shop fit, business plans, legalities of lettings, software
systems, accounts, joining the Ombudsman and NALS, …the list
is never ending... We were guided through the process and have had
continued support since launching from our operations director, who
always pushes us to do more and more business! We strongly
recommend the franchise route to anyone looking to own their own
business." Richard Oldaker and James Wiggins, Aldershot

“I came across Martin & Co and liked what I read, and as
soon as I went down and met the team in the Bournemouth head
office, I decided that this was the route for me. I simply went
with my instincts. Adam Clasby, Islington
|

| "Having been made redundant, franchising
presented the perfect opportunity to own my own business whilst
minimising the risks of starting independently. Due to the success
of Martin & Co as a brand and the fact that their business
model has been tried and tested over a number of years, it meant
the process of obtaining funding was fairly straight forward. Yes
banks are going to ask probing questions but the business plan that
Martin & Co provide all new franchises with settled any doubts
the banks I went to originally had." Ian Waldron, Wimbledon
|
 | “We have worked together before and
were keen to run our own business. Reviewing the options we felt
franchising was a route we wanted to follow. We completed a full
competitive analysis of all the available choices, and Martin &
Co won hands down. Not only is theirs the leading brand in the
sector, but - in return for a lower initial investment and lower
ongoing franchise fees - their package was easily the most
comprehensive." Tony Deveney and Carl Doogan, Sheffield
North
|
 | “I am not the type to
revel in the quiet life and wanted to prove that age doesn’t
have to be a barrier by launching a new business at the age of 64
(in 2006). I worked in the printing industry before retiring and
then found I was restless. I have still got a lot to offer, bundles
of energy and I am always buzzing with ideas.
Having been interested in the property sector for some years, I
was referred to Martin & Co by an existing franchisee. I did my
homework and found that Martin & Co has built an excellent
reputation throughout the UK and I wanted to be part of that
success." Sandra Reeves, Burgess Hill and Haywards

Territories/Locations
Where we are
recruiting?
As
the country’s largest and fastest-growing residential
lettings and property management franchise network, Martin & Co
has an ambitious expansion plan, and is on target to have 200
outlets on the high street by the end 2010 and 300 by the
time the company is fully mature.
Franchisees operate within a pre-defined territory. This is known
as an ‘Area of Prime Responsibility’ (APR). Franchisees
have the exclusive right to new business within their APR. From
data gathered and years of experience operating in various
locations across the UK, we have defined criteria that ensure each
territory is viable and meets certain criteria.
Territories are available in England, Ireland, Scotland and
Wales.
