Review great idea! A fast, casual restaurant that
specializes in Buffalo Wings and Philly cheese steaks! Sitdown or
carryout! This was just too tempting to pass up.
Chris Roth is no stranger to the restaurant business. With a degree
in hotel/restaurant management, experience with Steak and Ale, and
a part-owner of a Schlotsky's franchise, he is the brainchild
behind this new concept in Woodbridge. Chris felt it was time to
take his idea to the next level, and since he is a life long local
resident, decided on a prime location in Woodbridge. We asked him
how he came up with the idea.
"I just love Buffalo Wings and have a passion for
Cheesesteaks.
It was time to bring the two together." Well there you go. Let's see how
it came out.
There is an art to preparing good Buffalo wings. If you have ever
had Buffalo Wings, you know what I mean. They can be good, bad, or
indifferent. It's all in the preparation. Some places use frozen
wings, some thawed wings, and others you don't even know what they
use. Not here though. Only fresh jumbo wings, cooked to
order.
There is only so much you can say to describe good Buffalo Wings.
It's all in the taste and texture. It's like...they're just
good...Know what I mean? There are a few different sauces, based on
your taste - "Kid Friendly", "Just Right", "Sizzlin", "Atomic
Blast", and "Suicide." Don't hold me responsible for Atomic Blast
or Suicide. I wouldn't even try it-but then again, no guts, no
glory.
The authentic Philadelphia Cheese steaks are to die for. Chris only
uses Certified Black Angus steak, and that makes all the difference
in the world. No frozen pressed meat steak'um things slapped on a
grill. Only fresh Black Angus Sirloin grilled to perfection with
your choice of cheeses and toppings. I chose the onions and
peppers, and it was delicious. (You may want to bring a bib. My
dry-cleaner loves me.
Buffalo Philly's also offers a variety of traditional chicken
sandwiches and some great salads. Their Grilled Chicken Caesar
salads are very popular for lunch. Of course they also have a
plethora of sides, like fries, onion rings, Cole slaw and potato
and pasta salads.
Chris didn't cut corners when opening his restaurant. He has a
couple TVs throughout the dining room and a self serve popcorn
stand to nibble from after placing your order. Nice additions to
the environment.
Buffalo Philly's offers full catering to any special event or
party, or you can bring your group here. They are located on Opitz
Boulevard just past Potomac Hospital. Right behind the WAWA in
Daniel Stuart Square. Available for sit down or carryout, with
deliver coming soon.
Buffalo Philly's has only been open since mid-December, but based
on the crowds I saw, it has already struck a chord in Eastern
Prince William. I can see this one gaining popularity very
quickly.
Bottom line. Buffalo Philly's is my kind of place. Locally owned
and operated, not fancy or uptight. Instead of trying to be a "Jack
of all trades" when it comes to the menu, Chris takes a couple food
favorites, ads his flair, and just does it right. Two thumbs
up.
