In 1988 Dan McCabe and Peter La Colla opened their
first Street Corner concept store at West
Rigde Mall, Topeka, KS. During this time McCabe and La Colla
enhanced their concept and design. Following the success of the
Topeka, KS store they opened stores at Manhattan Town Center in
Manhattan, Kansas, and at the Mall of America in Bloomington,
Minnesota. Their idea was received so well that they turned their
business into a nationwide franchise program in 1995.
Street Corner is the
"Convenience Store in the Mall" and offer the things that mall
employees and mall patrons want during their shopping experiences;
Aspirin, Fountain & Bottled Drinks, Coffee & Tea, Lottery,
Snacks, Candy & Gum, Fax & Copy services, Cigarettes &
Cigars, Souvenirs & gifts, Office & Desk supplies and other
incidentals. Wide storefronts, lighting and specially designed
cases draw the customers off the mall streets and into the stores
by displaying familiar products in a bold and inviting way. That

the barriers from where the mall ends and the store begins so that
