In 2007, the SUBWAY® franchise was once again named the Number One Franchise Opportunity in Entrepreneur Magazine’s ‘Franchise 500’ rankings. This is the 15th time the company has won this prestigious award.
Specialist in toasted and cold
submarine sandwiches and salads, the SUBWAY® sandwich
franchise chain has experienced significant growth in recent
years as a fresh and great tasting alternative to other
options.
The SUBWAY® franchise chain is now the
largest specialist sandwich franchise in the UK and
Ireland. We aim to increase the number of outlets in the UK
and Ireland to over 2,010 stores by
2010.
The SUBWAY
Franchise Opportunity
As well as supporting the development of
individual sandwich franchise stores, the
SUBWAY® franchise also welcomes partnerships with
non-traditional sites such as convenience stores, airports, petrol
stations, leisure facilities, cinemas, universities, hospitals and
department stores.
The
growth of non-traditional sites has increased and is proving to be
very successful - there are now thousands of such outlets
worldwide. This growth is attributable to several elements inherent
in the SUBWAY® chain’s business.
These include:
Financial
Information
Our start-up costs are exceptionally low for a franchise of our size and stature and you can often purchase dependable outlet equipment through our purchasing power. In fact, in some cases, traditional SUBWAY® outlets can be opened for as little as c. £100,000. Your total initial investment will depend on many factors including location, rent, outlet size and equipment.
The franchise fee of $10,000 (about £6,000)
for outlets is one of the lowest on the market, despite the size of
the chain. To encourage multi-unit operation, the franchise
fee is reduced to $2,500 (about £1,500) for additional
franchises and as a result, 70% of franchises are purchased by
existing owners! One reason the costs are so low is that
SUBWAY® outlets feature a very simple operation...no cooking
is involved so you don’t have to invest large sums in
expensive grills and fryers.
