Harvestime is a supplier of frozen berries, tropical fruit and purees to selected customers located in both Bali as well as Jakarta. Our frozen fruit is used by a wide range of Foodservice and Manufacturing customers located both in Indonesia as well as Australia. We have locations and warehouses in six (6) Australian States and are looking to expand our network to cover the vast number of potential customers in Bali and Jakarta. Exisiting customers are also to be serviced by Harvestime Indonesia.
Frozen berries such as blueberries are a major ingredient in muffins and are widely used by bakeries throughout Indonesia. Frozen berries such as strawberries, raspberries and many others are used in smoothies, in jam manufacture, by restaurants, in desserts, catering, in yoghurts, gelato / ice cream and also sold through deli-type stores and other specialty retailers. Much of Harvestime's products are used by leading hotels, restaurants and foodservice businesses throughout Bali as well as in Jakarta. Harvestime in Sydney is selling more than AU$2.1 million of frozen berries and purees to a wide range of customers. This gives one an idea of the huge potential of the frozen berry industry. We are already supplying to leading distribution and foodservice companies in Indonesia.
We are looking for a suitable individual or entity to take over both existing business and introduce Harvestime berries to the huge Foodservice sector which includes Balinese as well as Jakarta based Hotels and Resorts, Retaurants, Bakeries, Ice-cream and Jam manufacturers, etc. Bali has a population of around 4 million with Jakarta at almost 10 million people leaving a substantial market for frozen berries, tropical fruit and purees.
How does the business work?
Harvestime’s customers tend to typically order mixed pallets comprising a wide selection of frozen berries and / or purees. A typical order may include, for example, 10 x 10kg cartons each of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and passionfruit pulp. The stock is placed onto a pallet and delivered to the customer. Harvestime Indonesia will not be required to have it's own delivery vehicle as transport is outsourced to external transport companies. There are regular delivery runs between Bali and Jakarta which allows for both markets to be well covered.
Harvestime supplies berries in a wide range of packaging options. For example, Foodservice Distributors or Wholesalers who is on-selling to restaurants, hotels, smaller bakeries, etc., may prefer to receive stock in 1kg bags (10 x 1kg bags per carton). This allows them to pick smaller orders and on-sell to their customers and deliver Harvestime berries as part of their usual order directly to the respective restaurant or hotel, etc.
For larger scaled businesses, there are bulk size cartons of around 10kg pack size for supply of berries to commercial bakeries, jam manufacturers, gelato / ice cream manufacturers, etc.

What do you need to do to run a Harvestime business?
Some of the Harvestime locations in Australia tend to hire a freezer container or alternatively make use of a commercial cold storage company’s facilities in order to kick start the business. The stock of frozen berries is supplied either from our existing suppliers directly to you or through regular shipments to Denpasar or Jakarta from our Sydney cold store. Harvestime Indonesia will be the sole supplier and 'owner' of the Trademarks which are already lodged with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights in Indonesia.
Who is Harvestime?
Harvestime comprises six separate businesses who trade under the Harvestime name and operate under license or a similar arrangement in six States in Australia. We are receiving an increasing number of requests for supply of frozen berries into Bali and Jakarta and for this reason, we see this one-off opportunity for an individual or entity to grow existing business and establish new opportunities in Indonesia in order to meet this growing demand as well as cover exisiting custromer requirements.
Each business is independently owned and operated with the comfort of knowing that all Harvestimes cooperate in the procurement of berries, packaging and end-user customers. We speak to the same suppliers who know our requirements. We have uniform brochures, packaging, products, etc.
Established in 2003, Harvestime is one of the fastest growing frozen berry suppliers and we expect the proposed Indonesian operation to enjoy similar results.
You may be pleased to know that Harvestime is registered with The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) which is a statutory agency within the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
What are we offering?
The intention is to establishing a small distribution warehouse in Indonesia to trade under the Harvestime and Elgin Organic brands.
You will have access to the full database of approved suppliers with the view to receiving your own stock and supplying directly to your customers. The Indonesian business can also benefit from any international customers requiring supply of product in both Australia and Indonesia.
The Australian business will supply the proposed Indonesian business the following:
Take over of all exisiting customers - working with major Foodservice Distributors in Indonesia.
• Full intellectual property rights to all of its current products and brands
• Rights to issue a sublicense or more than one sublicense in Indonesia
• Packaging materials and related marketing material
• Availability of Products – product will be shipped to Indonesia or directly from Indonesian based suppliers (stock will be then made available to leading customers).
• Expected buy pricing from suppliers and well as current sell prices.
• Support and set-up assistance
• Know-how and all the elements required to clone the business of the Harvestime operation.
• Visit and consultancy by the Director of the Australian operation to the proposed premises in Indonesia.
