The Concept

SPORTSLAND is the first free sports and entertainment monthly to expand into brand licensing. This innovative and original concept of free publications targets the general public from age 10 to 90. Games, interviews, features, photos, health, tips, horoscope, calendar, ads... It is a local magazine with editorial content and of playful character. Advertisers are manifold and from diverse industries: insurance, banking, travel, health, automotive, leisure, beauty, etc.
The full color magazine has a layout and content with absolutely nothing to envy to any paid magazine. Printed on 48 gr. paper with an open format of 410 x 290 mm and 32 pages, it is ideal for readers' expectations and advertisers’ requirements.
To date, the magazine has more than 100,000 regular readers in the pilot department of the Landes (40) with 33,000 copies distributed every 2nd Thursday of the month at over 650 distribution points of the Landes (local bakeries and shops) for a population of approximately 350,000 inhabitants.

The strong points of the concept


No stocks and a moderate financial investment (a computer, a digital camera, ordinary software, a telephone and a high-speed Internet connection suffice).This activity allows the licensee an immediate start in his territory, from his home and with no paid staff. We provide solid training and we give you all the necessary tools to get started fast.
Publishing costs are minimized by a real know-how on part of the licensor. The printer and the printing paper are guaranteed by the latter. The objective is to ensure that al SPORTSLAND publications are consistent and have the same quality. This is the strength of the network !

 

 

Terms of Access


SPORTSLAND info magazine is developed as a trademark license and is seeking for licensees in all French departments.

  • Date of creation of the magazine: 15th January 2005
  • Establishments: 1
  • Date of founding of the licensing company: June 2008
  • Personal investment: 20,000 €
  • Entry fee: 15,000 €
  • Total investment: 40,000 €
  • Royalties, advertising included:
  • No fee for the first 6 months
  • Fees, advertising included: 3% of sales (from the 6th month onwards) with a minimum of 150 € (not including tax) per month

Annual turnover (not including tax) for an establishment after 2 years of activity (2 persons):

  • From 90 to 150,000 € depending on the commercial aptitude  of the licensee

The entry fee includes the transfer of the original know-how developed by the licensor, validated by 4 years of experience and over 50 issues on the pilot site of the Landes. This fee is included in  the starter pack below

  • Training for 10 working days (Legal, technical, commercial, computing, site management...)
  • An independent and exclusive website for each licensee
  • A commercial package (Rationale and l sales technique, price lists, brochures)
  • The layout for the first 3 numbers (from 8 to 12 pages maximum)
  • A batch of 25 displays

 

     

 

Profile of the future licensee


We are looking for men and women who are highly adaptable and with a genuine desire to undertake entrepreneurship.
 
Firm commercial abilities and autonomy are the two foremost assets interested candidates should have. Interest in sports, communication and the region they live in are significant additional advantages for those wanting to operate a profitable business while enjoying a light structure (2 people minimum).
 
No big investment is needed, and neither is there need for technical and commercial premises; you have the choice to carry on your business alone, as a couple or with paid staff, and several legal statuses are possible.
