An Electronic Document
Storage Franchise
If you are looking for a
business to business franchise: to offer a quality proven solution
to professional service companies, mid range corporates and the
public sector; to build a business and long term relationships with
regular billing clients; to potentially benefit from and contribute
tonational account
opportunities; to operate a
business that requires no undue technical expertise and to join an
exciting new concept, then the electronic document storage
franchise might be the right opportunity for you.
Reducing the Paper
Mountain
Our core service is to digitise document
archives. Every business has a never ending capacity to produce
paper records; even emails are printed before being read! Certain
business sectors are required by law, best practice or by their own
governing bodies and associations to keep client and business
transactional records for many years. Recent legislative
requirements in the wake of company law fraud (under Sarbanes Oxley
guidelines for example) will inevitably further fuel the need to
securely store client files and important company
documentation.
A proven business
concept
thecabinetoffice has
provided document scanning services to its clients for 4 years.
Over 18months ago we piloted
our first franchise which has proven that our business model can be
successfully reproduced and we are now looking to build our
franchise network.
thecabinetoffice has an established client base
around its Head Office in the East Midlands; they include regional
law firms, insurance
companies, the NHS, private health companies, local government,
Higher Education establishments and larger local companies; and we
have successfully built a similar client profile around our pilot
franchise in East Anglia.
Last year thecabinetoffice won its first national
contract with the NFU Mutual, and is now responsible for delivering
services to their 340 offices in the UK. We aim to build a network
of regionally based scanning centres in order that we can secure
additional national contracts that can be fulfilled by franchisees
as an incremental revenue stream to their locally developed
business.
Our customers stand testament to the
quality of the services that we provide:
“The service
provided by thecabinetoffice has reduced the cost of physical document storage
and the labour involved in managing this; provided a system which
assists compliance with regulation; minimised the call to expand
premises and has given instant access to records, importantly
improving the service that we provide to our
clients.” Phil
Musson, NFU Mutual.
The competitive
environment
The document management services sector is
typically fulfilled by small local owner managed companies with
turnovers under £200,000. This local service works: clients
become rather attached to their records over time and they draw
comfort from using a local service provider where they perceive
they can access their records quickly. There is little economic
sense in transporting paper around the country in order for it to
be digitised before being shredded.
There are no nationally recognised companies that deliver the
services provided by thecabinetoffice. This means
that there is a market opportunity for a national organisation
operating locally that can service local businesses and exploit
national account opportunities. A franchise network is an ideal
model under which to provide this service.
A view from a franchisee
The first Franchise was set up and is
owned by Doug Denny. Doug (58) has a buying and marketing
background and purchased the franchise after being made redundant
from his previous employer. The business has quickly grown to the
point now where Doug employs a team of 4 people, has a monthly
turnover in excess of £10,000 and helps in the delivery of
services to national accounts.
“Owning and managing a retail or consumer oriented
business wasn’t an option for me. I knew that I wanted to run
a business services company and work during normal office hours, or
as normal as you can when you run your own business!
thecabinetoffice offered me a solution that was
non technical; that was focused towards a professional client base
and offered the opportunity for me to build a business based upon
growing long term client relationships – and that appealed to
me. I have been able to rely upon the team at
thecabinetoffice to support me in the development
of my business both at the outset and as my business has continued
to grow. In a very short time I have built the beginnings of a very
successful business, I have an established client list and I
already have one eye on an early business sale and retirement!
” Doug Denny, first Franchisee
What we want
from you
This is not a technical solution and
you do not need any prior qualifications to successfully build your
own business as a franchisee with
thecabinetoffice. However it is likely that you
will be someone that is confident holding a commercial discussion
at varying levels in an organisation, and is comfortable in a suit,
though that’s not mandatory! You have probably been a
professional person (a company director, a manager, perhaps a sales
person) and now have the opportunity and desire to build a business
of your own. If you are we want to hear from you.
And what you can expect from us
You can expect us to be fully supportive. Our Franchise Agreement
has been written in such a way to allow you the time, should you
require it, to learn how to
operate your business and to begin to build your customer base
before incurring full start up costs. We will help to develop your
initial business plan and support you in gaining your first billing
clients.
You can call upon us for additional
support at times where you need to provide your clients with
specialist services, or for example when you are trying to cope
with incremental volume.
You can expect us to be diligent in the recruitment of franchisees
and to only recruit those that will maintain the quality of our
brand.
You can expect us to develop the business in order that we maintain
and improve the level of service to our clients.
And you can expect us to listen; we understand that we have a joint
interest with our franchisees in the development of our
proposition.
We look forward to hearing from
you.
