Our client is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of post-press digital printing machinery, specialising in the book-on-demand and security printing markets. It has an enviable reputation in the industry and has supplied print finishing equipment to customers in the UK and overseas, including Government agencies, banks, security printers and book-on-demand printers. Major installations include the printing division of the largest book distributor in France and the UK/Europe's premier book-on-demand printer. Robust engineering means that machinery supplied in the 1980s remains in continuous service today. It's latest machine, an innovative three-knife trimmer, can operate stand-alone, or in-line, and is capable of matching a digital printer's make ready speed. Trimming accuracy and high quality of finished product leave it in a class of its own. Like all companies in the capital goods sector, the economic climate has affected machinery sales in recent years, although in 2011, the situation has improved. In the financial year to 31 August 2011, turnover was c£266k, the order book at that date was £233k and there is a significant enquiry pipeline from Libya, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Algeria, Australia and the Far East totalling around £1.3m.
