- This well-established professional house cleaning company has a list of over 130 active customers in the North and Central Orange County areas. It is not a franchise operation which means more money going into the owners’ pocket. The level of service is well above others. Open Monday through Fridays, closed on weekends! We often turn down weekend work so there is plenty of opportunity to increase business just by offering service on Saturdays.
Services provide are mostly residential cleaning with the occasional window cleaning and a couple of office cleanings. Most customers are scheduled on weekly, bi-weekly or 4-weekly cleaning cycles. A good portion of the business also comes from deep cleans done at the start of a regular cleaning schedule or due to a move out or move in. There are many repeat deep cleanings also from clients that prefer to do the regular cleanings themselves and call us to do a deeper cleaning a few times a year. Our customers have come to value our dependable service, attention to detail and overall quality of service.
This business is ideal for a husband and wife team, couple or partners with one person working as a cleaner supervisor and the other responsible for marketing and sales. There is a huge potential to build this business to any size that an energetic owner is willing to take it. We have turned away a lot of business over the last year as we wanted to keep the operation at the existing levels to ensure that we could provide a quality service to our customers. Very little advertising has been done so a new owner could substantially increase business by increasing marketing efforts. The current owner has many ideas on how to conduct effective marketing campaigns.
The business was originally established in 1998 and has been under the current owners’ management for the last 3 years. We have several loyal and long term customers many of whom have been with the company for over 5 years. Most of the long term customers have not had a price increase in several years, so there is opportunity to gain immediate increased revenues by increasing their service fees.
Fixed Assets: Included in the sale is 1 x Chevrolet Venture van, 2 x Geo Metro cars, vacuum cleaners and other cleaning equipment, computers, fax, photocopier, telephones and all office furniture and other equipment. An internet domain has been secured but the website has not been developed yet. We can assist with building the site for nominal charge.
Office Premises: The business is currently run from a centrally located 1000 sq. ft office warehouse with rollup door at the back. The office warehouse is rented on a 1 year lease expiring and renewable in March 2008. The landlord is flexible and allows subletting if all the office space is not required. This business could easily be run from a home with enough space to store the cleaning equipment and supplies.
Staffing: We have a loyal team of housekeeping staff whose tenure range from 1 to 2 years.
Reason for selling: The owner has another full time career and is considering consulting contracts that will take him abroad in late summer. The day to day business has been managed very successfully for the last 2 years by the owners partner who is ready to move on to other opportunities and travel abroad also.
Training and Consulting: The sellers will work with the buyer for a period of up to 1 week to ensure a smooth transition to the new owners and introduce them to the customers if required. For a short time beyond that, the seller is willing to consult with the new owners to answer basic questions and provide advice where needed. Any long term consulting can be negotiated but this is a relatively simple business to run and long term consulting is unlikely to be required.
Interested parties should be prepared to complete confidentiality disclosures before being given the name and address of the business and financial data pertaining to its operations. We have had a number of interested buyers who were not suitable for this business and wasted a lot of our time, so you will need to convince us of two things if you are interested in buying the business - 1. you must show financial proof that you have liquid funds to be able to purchase the business and 2. you must show have the ability and desire to run this business.
