"Our Client is a feed and farm supply retail store that also offers ancillary and related services. Founded in 1987 as an S-Corp doing business in a single state, the Company reorganized in 2002 as an LLC. Business territory was expanded to a second, adjacent state in 1998, with business being conducted in only those 2 states since that time. The Company serves primarily beef cattle farmers, dairy farmers, horse farmers, and sod farmers, although other services are offered as well, such as planting, spraying, and fertilizing services for interstates, power lines, golf courses, and nurseries. A retail arm of the Company offers over 3,000 items in various departments including lawn and garden, home, household and yard chemicals, horse tack, dog and cat supplies, welding, décor, swimming pool chemicals and supplies, clothing, boots, and additional miscellaneous farm supplies. Approximately half of revenue is generated from fertilizer sales, with the remaining half coming from other retail sales and farming services. The customer base is made up of 65% farmers, approximately 23% retail customers, and the remaining customer base comprised of wholesale chemical and landscaping customers and miscellaneous entities, all within a 2 state area. Revenue mix is divided between 96% retain and 4 % farming services. Products are primarily purchased from 7 long time suppliers.
The Company is owned by a single, active principle who holds 100% of Corporate stock and who sets the direction for the Company. He is assisted by 23 full time and 4 part time knowledgeable, trustworthy, and competent employees who are expected to remain with the Company. Business is conducted out of 2 retail stores and 4 warehouses, all with room for business expansion and strategically located within 90 minutes driving distance from a major metropolitan area.
