LOCATION
The business is currently run from the vendor's home in the West Midlands. However, the business is totally relocatable and would ideally suit premises which have some storage facilities (eg garage) and that have good motorway links.

BUSINESS PREMISES
There are no purpose built business premises but the sale does include a large Mercedes motorhome/distribution van which has been fully equipped with all "mod cons" to a high standard. We are advised that the vehicle is a 2000 registration but comes with a personalised number plate relating to the business.

THE BUSINESS
This has been in the hands of the current vendor for 5 years but was well established prior to him taking over. The business essentially trades by purchasing wholesale giftware and household items and selling them to numerous live retail accounts primarily in the North of the UK including the tourist areas of the Scottish Highlands and Islands. The vendor spends two weeks out of every month on the road in these locations but prospective purchasers are free to adapt the operation of the business to suit their needs. The purchase of the motor home has significantly reduced travelling expenditure and also allows delivery of large heavy items thus saving postal delivery charges, with small items still being distributed via parcel post. The business supplies a whole range of goods such as carded hardware items, batteries, toiletries, car accessories, DIY items, children's' toys, greetings cards and gift wrap, knitwear, sporting goods and a range of designer socks.

The business has always sold personalised knitwear and in the past had to outsource the personalisation of the goods. The vendor, however, has now purchased a computerised embroidery machine which has again significantly reduced costs and this is also included in the sale. A new addition to the business is the environmentally friendly shopping bags that can be personalised to the area, shop etc. The ink used for the printing of these bags is organic which another selling point is and the bags themselves are made calico cotton. These can be purchased with goods generally but are being purchased as souvenirs.
