Expansion potential:

The property stands on 2.35ha of land, only about 1/3 of which is currently used for the guesthouse and is surrounded by electric game fencing. There is also a large old building on the unused land that could be used for various purposes. Tourism is increasing in the area – with the park constantly expanding but its accommodation is still 95% full year round. There is evidently a need for self-contained self-catering units as well as more camping facilities in the vicinity. The cashstore could be converted to provide further accommodation for larger groups or perhaps a coffee shop/restaurant.

Competition / Market:

The Aardvark’s main market is budget travellers and backpackers. 70% of our trade is from the overseas market almost half of this being from Germany. In the Addo area the majority of the accommodation is B&Bs and upmarket guesthouses and lodges, with very little self-catering or budget accommodation.

Support & training:

We would provide a full handover and training to the buyer, and we may be able to live in and run the guesthouse whilst the new owners learnt the business. In addition we have an assistant manager who is fully conversant with the day to day running of the business.
