The Lodge is high on the banks of the Kafue River within Kafue National Park. It is in an undisturbed wilderness setting with typical African forest. Lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, elephant, hippo and many other animals abound in the surroundings. A variety of woodland and water birds can be seen. In total the property has about one kilometre of Kafue river front.
4 chalets with a total of 5 bedrooms (10 beds) are complete. There is also a campsite serviced with an ablution block with running water, showers and flush toilets. The central amenities structure is partially complete but usable. It has provision for 2 toilets, reception, lounge cum dining room and bar. The central area is partially furnished. There is also a kitchen and small pantry. 10 hectares are allowed for lodge area and 5 hectares allowed for camp site (but boundaries not delineated yet so owner has advantage to decide direction of development in consultation with Zambia Wildlife Authority) Still lots of space for extra developments.

Lease terms:

The property is within Kafue National Park and the land is leased from the Zambia Wildlife Authority. Initial lease period was 15 years, renewable for second term of 15 years. 10 years are now left on the initial period. Agreement is transferable to new owner. 

Location:

The lodge is located in the central part of the Kafue Natonal Park, only 270 km from Lusaka. Of this, 263km is on tarmac road and only 7 km on earth road.

Great potential to complete construction of central area and to add more accommodation.

Competition / Market:

There are other lodge in the park but this lodge is the closest to Lusaka. With improvements to the earth road, it has potential to operate all year round while many lodges in Zambia’s National Parks only operate for 6 months during the dry season .
