Business description
Bag a Business Ltd is delighted to offer to the market this charming guest house, which is a picturesque former farmhouse dating back to the 17th century. Our clients have carried out an extensive refurbishment program on the property. The guest house is only now being placed on the market to allow them to develop other business interests. Since the refurbishment, the business is open all year and has been generating an extremely encouraging income with a turnover from April 2007 to October 2007 in excess of £16,000. Bookings are generated from its own comprehensive web site, Discover Dartmoor and Yell.com, with next season looking to be even better. Acorn Cottage is establishing a reputation for offering quality accommodation, with personal service set in a stunning location. We feel that this unique opportunity represents an ideal base for a new owner to build upon, perhaps by offering evening meals or by serving cream teas. Early viewing is strongly recommended.

- Location:
- Acorn Cottage is set in an idyllic countryside location on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, just outside the sought after market town of Tavistock. Tavistock is situated in West Devon, on the River Tavy, from which its name derives, and has a population of 11,018. It traces its history back at least to AD 961, when Tavistock Abbey, whose ruins lie in the centre of the town, was founded. The town is a market town providing shopping and some entertainment for its many outlying villages and the local farming community, as well as forming a centre for the West Devon and Dartmoor tourist trade. It is a fast growing commuter base for many working in Plymouth. In 2005 Tavistock was voted 'Best Market Town' in England and in 2006 'Best Food Town, largely on the strength of the large number of independent food shops and suppliers to be found in the town and hinterland. It enjoys excellent links via the main A386, which connects to the A30 and A38 trunk roads.
