The business was built in 1992 by the current owners. The market is well known in the area for its homemade Lancaster County deli items such as corn pudding, broccoli salad, red beet eggs, 7-layer salad, soups, turkey and ham barbecue, chicken potpie, macaroni and cheese and many other salads, vegetable casseroles and meat dishes. Lots of bakery items are made daily and are popular with tourists and regular customers to the market. On any given day, customers will enter the market and immediately notice the inviting scent of homemade cookies baking. Many varieties of cookies including chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and sugar cakes , whoopie pies, dessert breads, many varieties of pies, and of course, the famous Lancaster County shoo fly pie are always on hand. The deli is a popular lunch stop for many local customers. Subs, sandwiches and salads are available made to order. Homemade soups are also popular with customers to eat in or take out. Just about any grocery item is available. Pickled vegetables, salad dressings, and sauces can be purchased. There is a produce and dairy section as well as a pasta section which boasts pasta made with wheat, spinach and tomatoes and potpie egg noodles. A frozen food section includes steaks, chicken, hamloaf, homemade gravies, potato and vegetable casseroles. Available for sale in the gift area are candles, cookbooks, holiday cards, and wooden furniture. Cookie cutters of every shape and size and a wide variety of spices can be purchased. The upstairs floor is used for the consignment sale of crafts, furniture and antiques.
