In 2002 the adjoining property was purchased and a purpose built facility was constructed to house the Vertical Assault Climbing Wall and the Red Crater internet Cafe.

The vertical climbing wall is rated as one of the best in the country proving to be very popular with visitors from overseas, school groups, clubs and New Zealand locals.

The Cafe is a nice and classy style coffee shop with good food at affordable prices. The internet facilities in the Cafe and Backpackers accommodation area are popular with those visiting and staying at this facility.
