Business description

This livestock production operation is separated into two distinct operations that are operated by the same corporate entity. The operation buys baby Holstein calves which are just several days old and they are fed until they are ready to be sold other cattle feeding operations. The calves are first bottle fed and then weaned onto dry feed and water until they reach an age where they are ready for other livestock operators to raise them until they are ready for slaughter. A normal inventory of cattle being fed by the business will be in excess of 1,500. The other component of the business involves hogs and raising of feeder pigs until they sold to finishing operations. The business typically will have over 900 sows that will give birth to a litter of pigs which are then raised until they reach market weight. Some of the pigs are sold as roasters when they reach 90 to 100 pounds which are purchased for use in the Winter Asian markets. Live hogs are also shipped to Hawaii for the fresh pork trade which flourishes in that state. The business is highly automated and has its own feed mills and feed delivery systems. Power generators are also used to provide electricity to the facility as well as the business owns a waste discharge easement. The facility is fully licensed and permitted by the state and has passed all environment reviews and inspections in relation to the disposal of the animal waste. The seller will gladly stay on through transition and training.
