Expansion potential:

There are currently 12 large kennels, 16 medium ones and 8 smaller kennels, but there is always space to expand. There is a small field connected to the side of one of the kennel blocks, so it would be easy to expand if required. There are also 4 stables which could be converted and an outbuilding which has planning permission on it already.

Competition / Market:

The kennels have been running since 1995, and over that time has created a large, supportive clientelle who return holiday after holiday to board their dogs. All Summer and all holidays (Christmas, school holidays) are very popular with all kennels being filled throughout. Being connected to the Animal Rescue on site, means a lot of adopters from the rescue will return to board their dogs in the kennels. Also, the only advertising we do is with Yell.com as a lot of business is word of mouth from customers and visitors to the rescue. The market has shown no sign of dipping, and we are very often turning people away as we are already full. People phone up to 6 months in advance to ensure they have a kennel available. There is another boarding kennels approx. 5 miles away. Although it is a similar size, we have never felt at risk from their business
